Jets Pro Bowl center Nick Mangold labeled the neck injury that left him lying motionless on his stomach during Sunday's loss to the Patriots as "scary" and a "new phenomenon" as he continued to prepare to play this week against Oakland.
"I feel like, unless I'm lying there bleeding out, I'll be able to play at any point in time," he said. "Without that mentality, I don't think I'd be where I am today."
Mangold, 31, did not practice Thursday. He walked off the playing field Sunday, but was taken on a cart to the locker room.
