DETROIT — The Bills’ waiver claim of former Jet IK Enemkpali on Wednesday took nearly everyone by surprise.
Everyone, it seems, except for the players on the Jets’ roster.
“Rex is Rex,” Willie Colon said, referring to former Jets coach and current Buffalo head man Rex Ryan. “We weren’t surprised.”
Enemkpali was released by the Jets on Tuesday after punching Geno Smith in the face and breaking the quarterback’s jaw. Most figured that Enemkpali would have to wait awhile before getting a second chance in the NFL, if he ever got one. But then the Bills came calling, claiming the 2014 sixth-round pick on waivers on Wednesday.
