Jets in London diary, Day 3: A stirring scene at Wembley, then a Sunday pub roast with a pint

LONDON — The nearly 84,000 fans who had crammed into Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon all stood. Down on the field, Laura Wright began to sing, her soaring soprano voice filling the stadium. The fans immediately joined in — a stirring chorus of countrymen, singing as one, loud and clear.

God save our gracious Queen. Long live our noble Queen. God save the Queen. Send her victorious, happy and glorious, long to reign over us. God save the Queen!

The British fans who showed up at Wembley on Sunday — and watched the Jets beat the Dolphins 27-14 — came to be heard.
