Jets' hook-and-ladder touchdown: A half-century in the making

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets have only 10 touchdown passes, basically four average games for Tom Brady, but at least they can say No. 10 was an all-timer.

Turns out their hook-and-ladder play against the Los Angeles Rams -- Bryce Petty to Brandon Marshall to Bilal Powell -- was only the team's second touchdown off a lateral in franchise history. The only other time it happened was Nov. 7, 1965, according to Randy Lange of the team's official website.

That was Joe Namath's rookie year.
