Jets have QB Matt Flynn in for a check-up

The Jets are still trying to figure out what they are going to do for a backup quarterback in the wake of Geno Smith’s broken jaw.

As part of that effort, the team brought free agent Matt Flynn to Florham Park on Friday to undergo a physical, according to a source. Flynn is recovering from a hamstring injury, which was the reason the Patriots cut him earlier this week. Flynn did not work out for the Jets, the source said. That is a possible indication the hamstring is still an issue.

The Jets need a veteran to back up Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the pickings are slim.
