Jets grades: F's for offense, defense and coaching

OFFENSE: F

The Jets continue to be a brutally predictable and ineffective offense. Offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates said it’s on him to call plays that gets his receivers open, and said he would be more aggressive with taking shots down the field. The Jets’ first four series resulted in three-and-outs. They went nearly 23 minutes before registering their first first down. The Jets also did something very difficult – and it wasn’t something that should make them feel proud. They had three holding penalties . . . on one play! Unreal. Josh McCown replaced the injured Sam Darnold at quarterback, and showed the rust from not playing in a regular-season game since last December.
