The Jets were awarded running back Knile Davis off of waivers on Tuesday.
The Packers waived Davis on Monday after just acquiring him from the Chiefs in a trade two weeks ago. Davis only played in two games for the Packers, rushing for 5 yards on five carries and returning one kickoff 18 yards.
The Jets may be looking at Davis as a kick returner. Rookie Jalin Marshall has not had much success. Davis has returned three kicks for touchdowns in his career, including one in the playoffs last season.
Davis’ best year running the ball came in 2014, when he filled in for an injured Jamaal Charles and ran for six touchdowns and 463 yards.
