Jets general manager Joe Douglas praised running back Le’Veon Bell, but also said he will listen to trade offers if teams are interested in him.
“If teams do call, I’m going to listen,” Douglas said. “How those conversations go I can’t speak to that. That’s hypothetical. But when teams call, I will listen.”
That was the same message Douglas gave in October at the trade deadline, when he entertained offers for Bell and safety Jamal Adams. Even though he listened, Douglas said that does not mean he wants to trade them.
Douglas praised how Bell handled himself in a disappointing first Jets season.
