Mike Maccagnan is not going to pull a Dave Gettleman.
The Jets’ general manager said Friday the team is not considering rescinding the franchise tag from defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson like the Panthers’ GM did this week with cornerback Josh Norman.
“I don’t view that as an option,” Maccagnan said. “That’s not something we’re considering or we as an organization are considering and would consider going forward. At the end of the day, Mo is a good player. It’s part of the process. We have the ability to franchise players and that gives us a degree of ability to retain them.
