Jets GM Maccagnan Named PFWA Executive Of The Year

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan, who in his first season assembled a team that improved from 4-12 to 10-6, was named NFL Executive of the Year on Thursday by Pro Football Writers of America.

He is the first Jets executive to win the award since it began in 1993.

Maccagnan came from the Houston Texans, where he was director of college scouting, and promptly made several moves that helped propel the Jets to their winning season in five years, although they just missed the playoffs.
