Jets get younger on defensive line with $7 million signing

The Jets added another defensive lineman on Wednesday, reaching a deal with defensive end Jarvis Jenkins.

Jenkins’ agent announced the two sides had an agreement on Twitter. It is for two years, $7 million with $3 million guaranteed, according to a source.

Jenkins visited the Jets on Friday and it looked like a deal might get done then, but it took a little longer. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder was a second-round pick of the Redskins in 2011. He played for them through 2014 before playing for the Bears last year. He has six career sacks, including four last year.
