Jets Fall at Detroit 23-3: Eight Observations

The Jets' preseason opener and their first game under head coach Todd Bowles tonight was a sputtering affair in the Motor City.

The first offense, with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB, went just one series, producing a field goal. The third offense gave up a third-quarter turnover that produced a one-play, 20-yard TD drive. The first offense yielded 10 points on two 70-yard drives. Detroit held a 424-123 yardage margin. And the Jets fell to the Lions in Ford Field, 23-3.

The good part is that opening-night jitters are out of the way and improvements can and must be made in camp this week leading up to the preseason home opener against the Falcons on Aug.
