The video only told part of the story.
During the final minutes of the Jets’ 42-21 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night, Sam Darnold appeared to show frustration with first-year coach Adam Gase, with the quarterback’s heated comments seemingly leaving backup quarterback David Fales in shock.
After the second-year franchise quarterback failed to convert a fourth-and-1 pass with 4:06 remaining in the blowout, Darnold exchanged words with Gase on the sideline. Darnold’s body language hinted at feelings which fail to align with the endorsements he’s consistently given the unpopular coach this season.
However, while both were angry, Gase said Friday they were “b–ching” in agreement about a mistake that another player made.
