Darryl Slater of NJ.com reports that the Jets are expected to tender restricted free agent CB Marcus Williams at the second-round level.
The second-round tender will cost the Jets $2.746 million for the 2017 season and net them a second-round pick if he receives an offer sheet from another team and they elect to pass on matching it.
Williams, 25, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Houston before he was waived and later signed to the Jets’ practice squad during the 2014 season.
