Draft night felt like Christmas morning, according to one Jets executive.
Brian Heimerdiner, the team’s new director of player personnel, told a Nashville radio station that he was “surprised and excited” when defensive lineman Leonard Williams was available for the Jets to take at No. 6 in April’s draft.
“It’s like getting your favorite Christmas present when you walk down the stairs on the 25th of December,” Heimerdinger said on 104.5 The Zone. “Very excited. He’s a big, strong, athletic guy. Usually, you like to have those guys.”
Heimerdinger was one of new general manager Mike Maccagnan’s firt hires.
