Jets' Eric Decker has hip surgery, will have shoulder operation once he's off crutches

The Jets announced that Eric Decker underwent hip surgery on Tuesday.

Decker, their best red-zone receiving option, was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 12 because of a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. But according to the team, doctors deemed that hip surgery was “necessary” during an evaluation.

When Decker is off crutches following the hip surgery, he will undergo surgery on his shoulder.
