JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It was the salt in the wound.
After dismantling the Jets all day, the Jaguars tried to rub it in with 25 seconds left. They scored a touchdown when T.J. Yeldon ran it in from the 1-yard line to make it 31-12. That was bad enough. Then, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone unsuccessfully went for the two-point conversion.
Marrone said he did it because the two-point conversion chart said when you’re up 19, you try to make it 21. OK, but with 25 seconds left?
“We had a lot of guys banged up on the PAT and field-goal [unit],” Marrone said.
