Jets’ disappointing LB finally got off bench and into a QB’s face

CLEVELAND — Lorenzo Mauldin finally got a chance to play last week, and the second-year linebacker showed he can handle it.

Mauldin’s lack of playing time this year has been a bit of a mystery. Jets coach Todd Bowles has chalked it up to the team wanting to play more 4-3 to get their best players on the field, but doesn’t that mean Mauldin is not one of their best players?

The Jets talked Mauldin up this offseason, but he had been kept on the bench mostly until last week against the Ravens when the Jets played more 3-4 looks with Muhammad Wilkerson out.
