Some odd reports surfaced Friday in the middle of the NFL draft regarding Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan’s future with the team.
First, draft analyst Tony Pauline said on a podcast that a rift has developed between Maccagnan and new Jets coach Adam Gase, dating back to free agency over disagreements about players. People inside the Jets denied there was any rift and said any disagreements were the usual ones that coaches and the front office regularly have.
Maccagnan was asked about any rift with Gase after the third round of the draft Friday.
“I think Adam and I have worked very well together,” Maccagnan said.
