The New York Jets officially placed DB Doug Middleton on the injured reserve list after clearing waivers on Thursday.
Middleton, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
The Jets decided to waive him on Wednesday with an injury designation.
In 2016, Middleton appeared in four games for the Jets and recorded six total tackles and one pass defense.
