FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Pepper Johnson became salty with the media on Tuesday, when he refused to take questions about his defensive line unit.
Speaking to three reporters and the Jets’ team website, Johnson said he was only interested in answering questions about himself — not any of his players.
“Before we get started, [if] there’s no Pepper Johnson questions, I’m not answering any questions,” the assistant coach said, setting ground rules for his so-called interview.
Johnson’s silence comes just nine days after two of his biggest stars, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson, were benched in the first quarter of the Jets’ 27-23 loss to the Dolphins on Nov.
