The New York Jets swapped one Jeremy for another on Tuesday, claiming wide receiver Jeremy Butler on waivers and releasing wide receiver Jeremy Ross.
Butler had been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier in the week. The 6-foot-2 receiver didn't accumulate any stats with the Bucs, but he caught 31 passes for 363 yards last season with the Baltimore Ravens.
Why the swap? It means rookie Jalin Marshall is expected to return this week after missing two games with a torn labrum.
Marshall returned punts and kickoffs in the first three games.
