The Jets waived underachieving former first-round pick Quinton Coples Monday after their embarrassing 24-17 loss to the Texans. Coples, who had been marginalized in Todd Bowles' scheme, played just five snaps Sunday.
He had just eight tackles in 10 games (two starts) this season.
Coples, the No. 16 pick in the 2012 draft by Mike Tannenbaum, wasn't a good fit for Bowles' plan.
