Jets could be without injured Jamal Adams for weeks

The Jets may be without star safety Jamal Adams for the foreseeable future.

Coach Adam Gase said Adams has a left ankle sprain, which will keep him out of practice this week and it could keep him out against the Dolphins on Sunday. With the next game after that coming on “Thursday Night Football” against the Ravens, it is conceivable he could miss their next two games unless he heals quickly.

“I think it is a legit week-to-week,” Gase said Monday afternoon. “I am waiting on the details of what the injury is. I am going to lean on him a lot too as far as how he feels.
