The Jets interviewed Adam Gase for their coaching vacancy, the team announced Friday. It’s their second known interview.
Gase, the former Dolphins head coach, was fired Monday after three years in Miami. The Dolphins went 23-25 under Gase and made the playoffs in his first season.
He is known as an offensive coach and for his work with quarterbacks. The Jets are expected to hire someone who can help develop Sam Darnold.
Most of the known candidates for the job that opened up Sunday, when the Jets fired Todd Bowles, have an offensive background.
Gase had success with Peyton Manning as Denver’s offensive coordinator the year the quarterback legend threw for an NFL-record 55 touchdown passes.
