TEMPE, Ariz. -- When New York Jets coach Todd Bowles looks out from the sideline Monday night at University of Phoenix Stadium, he’ll see more than familiar faces.
Bowles will see the Arizona Cardinals’ defense running largely the same scheme he built when he was the its defensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014.
“We still run the same defense for the most part,” safety Tyrann Mathieu said. “We have the same philosophies, same theories, pretty much the same concepts. So, I mean, it works. His defense works.”
The Cardinals run about 80 percent of what Bowles left behind.
