Jets' Chris Herndon on DWI arrest: 'This is not who I am'

Jets tight end Chris Herndon on Tuesday said his recent driving while intoxicated arrest does not reflect his true character.

"This is not who I am," he said after the Jets' organized team activities practice.

But Herndon declined to offer details about his Saturday DWI arrest in Rockaway Township.

Herndon allegedly crashed his SUV into an SUV driven by a 76-year-old Manalapan man, Albert Elliott. Herndon was arrested by New Jersey State Police at 4:45 a.m., after the wreck on Interstate 80 westbound.

Elliott bruised and cut his arm, according to the Miami Herald.
