The seasons of tight end Chris Herndon and guard Brian Winters officially ended Tuesday with the Jets placing them on injured reserve.
The 23-year-old Herndon played in just one game this season, making one catch against the Giants on Sunday before breaking a rib. Herndon missed the first four games of the season because of a suspension and the next four because of a hamstring injury. What was supposed to be a big season for the second-year player became a lost one.
Winters played through shoulder and knee injuries all season, but could not come back from having his left shoulder dislocated a second time, which happened in Sunday’s game.
