The Jets have to hope Trumaine Johnson’s return from injury goes better than the last time.
Johnson is expected to play in Sunday’s season opener against the Bills after missing three weeks of training camp with a hamstring injury. Last year, the cornerback also faced the Bills as he came back from a five-week absence with a quad injury … and the Bills went after him from the start.
On the first play of the game, Matt Barkley threw a 47-yard pass over Johnson’s head to Robert Foster, and the rout was on. It was one snapshot of Johnson’s disappointing first season with the Jets.
