Jets bring in veteran quarterback Matt Flynn for physical

The search for a suitable backup quarterback continues for the Jets.

In the wake of Geno Smith's injury, and their decision to promote No. 2 quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, the organization brought in veteran quarterback Matt Flynn for a physical Friday. But according to a source, he did not have a workout.

The issue could be his balky hamstring, which resulted in his release Monday from the Patriots.

Flynn, 30, has thrown 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in seven NFL seasons. He played the majority of that time in Green Bay, but he also spent time with the Seahawks, Raiders and Bills before he signed on to be the Patriots' third-string quarterback on June 11.
