The Jets added a fourth safety to their roster Tuesday, inking a deal with free agent Antonio Allen.
Allen, who signed with the Houston Texans in March and was released on Sep. 3, was originally a seventh-round selection (No. 242 overall) by the Jets in 2012 NFL Draft. The South Carolina product was healthy for three seasons with the Green & White, collecting 110 tackles (82 solo), 13 PDs and 1 INT that he returned for a TD against the Patriots in Week 7 matchup in 2013. The 6’1”, 210-pound Allen appeared in 38 games with the Green & White, starting 18 and he missed the 2015 season after suffering an Achilles injury during training camp.
