Just days after losing Chris Ivory to a big-money deal in Jacksonville, the Jets restocked their running back corps on Thursday.
After agreeing to terms with former Bear Matt Forte, sources confirmed to Newsday that the Jets have also agreed in principle to re-sign Bilal Powell and former Saint Khiry Robinson.
The loss of Ivory, the 2015 AFC rushing champion, was quickly offset by the reported three-year, $12-million deal they agreed to give former Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte.
On Thursday, the Jets were able to retain the 27-year-old Powell, a former 2011 draft pick who has emerged as a potent weapon in Chan Gailey’s offense.
