Jets bonehead concusses self with a dirty head-butt

It’s hard to think of any Jets player who had a good performance in Sunday’s 27-17 loss to visiting Seattle, but right guard Brian Winters had a particularly bad day.

Trailing 7-3 in the second quarter, Jets running back Matt Forte was stuffed on first down at the Seahawks’ 44-yard line. Following the play, Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett could be seen hovering around the pile and chatting, which clearly bothered Winters, who responded by head-butting Bennett.

Winters was flagged for unnecessary roughness, and the ensuing 15-yard penalty would ultimately end the Jets’ drive. Even worse, Winters appeared to injure himself, and he was brought back to the trainer’s room where it was ultimately determined that he suffered a concussion.
