FLORHAM PARK -- Here's a look at the Jets' Monday injury report for their season opener Sunday at the Bills:
OLB Lorenzo Mauldin (back): Was placed on injured reserve. Because he was on the Jets' initial 53-man roster, he is eligible to return this season. Teams now get two short-term IR spots. And teams don't have to designate a player as a short-term IR guy at the time of IR placement. They can do it when he is ready to return. If the Jets want to bring Mauldin back as a short-term IR player, he is eligible to practice after Week 6 and play in games after Week 8.
