The Jets have lost another key player for the season as starting running back Bilal Powell was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury.
Powell, the longest-tenured Jet, hurt his neck in Sunday’s loss to the Vikings. It’s possible that was Powell’s last game as a Jet since he will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
A fourth-round pick in 2011, Powell rushed for 343 yards on 80 carries, and also caught 11 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown this season.
The Jets could look to sign or deal for a running back before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
