The Jets are signing Port Jefferson native Elijah Riley off of the Eagles' practice squad, a league source said.
Riley fills a need for the Jets at safety. Marcus Maye suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in the Jets’ loss to the Colts last Thursday night.
The 23-year-old Riley was a star player at Newfield High School. He led Newfield to the Long Island Class II title in 2015 and won the Carl A. Hansen Award, given to Suffolk’s top player.
After attending Army, Riley was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2020.
