The end of Sam Darnold’s holdout appears near.
The Jets and Darnold’s representatives were talking Monday, and the belief is the two sides could reach a deal shortly, according to a source.
Darnold has missed the first three days of training camp as he and the Jets haggled over language in his four-year, $30 million contract. The Jets have practice at 1:50 p.m., and it seems unlikely that Darnold could practice Monday. He may need to go through some procedural things like a physical before he is able to practice.
The Jets drafted Darnold No. 3 overall and hope they have found their franchise quarterback.
