A fifth candidate for the open Jets general manager position emerged Wednesday.
The team has requested permission to interview Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot, according to the NFL Network. Fontenot joins Joe Douglas, Champ Kelly, Scott Fitterer and George Paton as the known candidates the Jets have requested permission to speak with.
Interviews are expected to begin later this week. The Jets are looking to replace Mike Maccagnan, who was fired May 15 after four years on the job.
Fontenot has spent 16 years with the Saints, the last six as the director of pro scouting.
