FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Jets’ banged-up running backs corps just got a boost.
On Monday, the team activated Khiry Robinson off the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list. His addition on the field couldn’t have come at a better time for the Jets, who still have yet to practice with No. 1 back Matt Forte (hamstring). Veteran pickup Bernard Pierce also has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Robinson, who went undrafted in 2013, played in 28 games for the Saints (including three starts) over the past three seasons. He rushed for 766 yards and eight touchdowns on 186 carries.
