The Jets swapped one safety for another Sunday.
The team was awarded former Seahawks strong safety Ronald Martin off waivers, and in a subsequent move released fan favorite Rontez Miles.
The Seahawks signed the 6-2, 220-pound Martin as an undrafted free agent this offseason. The LSU product had 11 tackles and two passes defensed with Seattle this preseason.
Martin, 22, started 13 games as a senior and recorded a career-high 73 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass breakups.
Miles, who made the initial 53-man cut on Saturday, had 23 tackles and also scored on a fumble return this preseason.
