Jermaine Kearse filling two vital roles for Jets

Through two games, the Jets have scored just three touchdowns. Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse has two of them.

They have gained 485 total net yards. Kearse is responsible for more than a quarter of those (123).

In an offense ranked 30th in the NFL, the former Seahawk has been one of the lone bright spots. And he joined Gang Green less than two weeks before opening day.

Kearse was part of the deal that shipped defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson to Seattle in early September. After Quincy Enunwa was ruled out for the year with a neck injury during training camp, the Jets were in desperate need of reliable targets.
