It took a few days, but the Jets finally got their defensive end.
The Jets signed Bears free agent Jarvis Jenkins, his agents tweeted.
Jarvis, 27, visited the Jets on Friday, and appeared to be leaning toward joining Todd Bowles’ team. But it wasn’t until Tuesday that either his agents or the team acknowledged a deal had been agreed upon.
Since the departure of nose tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison, the Jets have been focused on fortifying their defensive line. The organization is expected to sign former Steelers nose tackle Steve McLendon, as Newsday first reported on Monday.
