Jamal Adams, Seattle Seahawks still ‘not close’ on contract extension

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams and U2 lead singer Bono don’t have much in common, but each of them still hasn’t found what they’re looking for.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the former New York Jets safety is “not close at all” toward the long-sought contract that would make him football’s highest-paid safety. It’s a quest that played a role in the Jets dealing him to the Pacific Northwest in a trade that celebrated its one-year anniversary on Sunday.

But even though Adams’ endgame has not yet been realized, neither Rapoport nor the Seahawks expect him to hold out when the team opens camp in Renton, WA on Tuesday.
