Jamal Adams, Le’Veon Bell should be on opposite sides of Jets’ future

LANDOVER, Md. — They were the alpha dogs, one on offense, one on defense, who were certain they would bark gleefully in unison together and get the Jets biting again.

Jamal Adams, looking for a partner in crime, recruited Le’Veon Bell, looking for a new home.

And that home has been leveled.

And when this Jets season mercifully ends, with a ninth straight season out of the playoffs, all eyes will turn to the most important and powerful man in the organization: General manager Joe Douglas.

His mandate is to be the football physician for a franchise-altering infusion of new blood to begin rebuilding the Jets in his image, in a vision purportedly shared with CEO Christopher Johnson and coach Adam Gase.
