JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — To his credit, Jamal did not hide.
The Jets safety, one of the team leaders, was front and center inside the losing locker room after the Jaguars beat the Jets, 29-15, Sunday at TIAA Bank Field, calling himself out.
The reality was that Adams had plenty of culprit help in the loss, but he said the first Jaguars touchdown — a 6-yard scoring pass from Gardner Minshew to Keelan Cole on the opening possession of the game — was his fault.
Adams said he guessed wrong on the route Cole was going to run and it made for a too-easy pitch-and-catch for Minshew and Cole.
