Can it really be as simple as this?
Think about how disgruntled your average Mets fan has been this summer. Now think a little harder, and multiply that rage, frustration and aggravation by about a thousand, and rewind your memory bank a little, and what you have is the mud bath in which so many Jets fans were planted last fall.
Remember the signs? Remember the backlash?
Remember John Idzik?
There are times that all seems like it happened in another decade, to another team. That 4-12 calamity resulted in sweeping change, some of it greeted with rejoicing — Idzik was blamed for everything wrong with the Jets except maybe the decision to go with those awful Wesley Walker ’80s uniforms — and some with sadness — Rex Ryan never made anyone forget Bill Belichick, but he was fun to have around.
