Is this the offseason Jets finally get elite pass rusher?

He was among the league's best at getting to the quarterback, and was well on his way to becoming one of the better players to wear a Jets uniform.

From 2000 through 2005, John Abraham tallied 211 tackles, 53.5 sacks 19 forced fumbles and earned three Pro Bowl and two all-pro honors. He was an elite defensive player.

And the Jets traded him away.

Curse of the Bambino, meet Curse of the Edge Rusher. In the decade since exiling Abraham, who went on to record 80 sacks over the next eight years, the Jets still haven't replaced him.
