It seemed crazy two months ago. Jets linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin was an easy roster lock. A guarantee. No way he was on the roster bubble.
Sure, the start of Mauldin's career hadn't been what the Jets hoped, but this is a guy they drafted in the third round just three years ago. Moving on from a 24-year-old this early would be asinine. A joke.
Fast forward to Aug. 20, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a big-name player with a warmer seat over at One Jets Drive.
Throughout the offseason, Mauldin hasn't done much to instill confidence he's ready for a breakout year.
