IK Enemkpali is facing at least a four-game suspension for clocking Geno Smith in the jaw in August, according to NFL.com. Enemkpali will appeal the suspension, which comes under the league’s personal conduct polica and could last as long as six games, according to the report.
Enemkpali is currently on the Bills practice squad. Rex Ryan claimed Enemkpali the day after he punched Smith in the face, but waived the former Jet during final cuts. Buffalo then added him back to their practice squad.
Smith, meanwhile, is recovering from a broken jaw that required surgery and is expected to miss at least the first four games of the season.
