What a horrible contract that $39 million deal turned out to be. Revis gave the Jets one OK season in 2015 and one horrible season in 2016. He looks close to being finished.
This was a no-brainer release. It created $9.3 million in cap space, with $6 million in dead money, which will be offset by whatever Revis makes from his next team. He remains a free agent.
